haha what the fuck is orlampo sean ..i lived out there in the sticks for years and always passed that thing and i don't rmemeber any orlampo....hey remember wehn that place was gator land or w/e i used to go there alot...i think that is where the strong urge to wrestle gators when i am drunk comes from ...or maybe not

For a long time there was a sign out by I-4 that said "Future home of ORLAMPA". I believe that the owner of the property put it up as a joke since it was right between Tampa and Orlando. It was just a big empty field. Anyways, it was down last time I went by, but that was months ago. Maybe it just got knocked down by a hurricane and it is back up for all I know.

Orlampa? I've lived in Polk City/Lakeland for 5 years and never heard it called "Orlampa", I've heard it called "Heartland" numerous times though cus it's the direct middle point between Tampa and Orlando. I love Polk County, hehe, bunch of 'ol hicks.

Yeah that sign was put up as a joke... b/c tampa and orlando keep growing.... so they figured eventually that both cities would keep expanding and then eventually converge.

BTW, Orlampa was supposedly that space of land (directly in between Orlando and Tampa) where they were suggesting building a bunch of stores, bars, etc.
They said once it was supposed to be some good area for people from both cities to come meet up in. I remember the sign well. It was there a year ago when I used to drive out that way a lot

also i've been to orlando and back four times this year and i never did see the orlampa sign on any of those trips. that may have been because two of those times i was driving but still. 'twas a travesty and disappointment. :[
