kf4zra, How do you like that Glock? Springfield makes a mini XD thats very similar but with an equipment rail. I thinking about getting one.

ive had this pistol for about 8 years now, its never failed me. springfield came out with their xd series about 4 yrs after i got this gun. havent heard anything bad about the xd series. they design was based loosely on the HS2000 made in croatia. the design is basically a glock with a grip safety. the sigma, like pictured above, was a flat out copy of the glock action. there was a lawsuit between glock and S&W over the sigma. if you looked at the underside of the slide of one, it would be almost identical to the glock.

me personally, i prefer the glock. its a simpler design, with fewer parts. they are rugged, reliable, and proven. they have been around longer, tons of aftermarket and original parts and accys are readily available, and if you ever have to sell it, since everyone knows the glock name, there is always a market for it.

thats my .02 anyway.

Kf4zra,
I had the chance to shoot both before I got the sigma, to me sigma points better. Your right about the law suit, S&W lost. I hear the barrels are interchangable and take down is exactly the same. Really the only real mechanical difference that I see is that the Sigma is a true double action were the Glock isn't. The reason I like the XD is because there is a loaded chamber indicator that you can feel, and the grip safety.

the latest generation of glock added the loaded chamber indicator too.
