this is why i've always wanted to go to south america.
people are so close and usually very friendly to everyone regardless of who they are [for the most part] and things like eye and skin contact don't "weird" them out like it does here.

or maybe they realize they are all poor and have no choice but to help each other and they all have the same eye and skin color anyway...

^^not true at all... south american countries have cultures that promote unity in family and friends. that is something that the U.S. is lacking. ask anyone who has been to a spanish country and they will tell you that. By the way Colombia has all kinds of skin colors and eye colors. yes there are blue eyed blondes in colombia!

Im talking about the majority of people there and the unity is promoted becuase they NEED it, its an adaptation to their life style and needs to get by in their world. Americans dont need other people, thats why we are more independent.

^ Thank you.
Really though, I thought someone saw this pic and thought it was funny and posted.
Can I really help it if that is how most of the people on here are?

^^^um, not really. i consider myself very American even though I am Colombian and I respect the american culture. but it's people like u that make certain americans seem very selfish, not independent! it's some people like you that only care about themselves, it has nothing to do with adaption.. i'm not putting down the american culture at all, i mean i am part of it myself but it's just a fact that south american cultures have closer family ties

seriously though
i agree with this kike3433444 dude because he's right. i know in my family we're very close and "touchy-feely," for lack of a better phrase, and it's ingrained in latino culture.

You completely miss the point of my argument, both of you. Your so close nit and shit because your culture had to be. Americans at one point were close nit too but as we became a more independent culture, we grew out of it.

Nothing I said dignifies this statement, try again.
