The key west grunt (white grunt) is really pale with a taller body and only has stripes on its face (mostly) this one is a "blue striped grunt" very easy name

dang I love fishing!

about 8 years ago off pcola during a fishin tourney some guy had a cuda fly out of the water and rip through part of his stomach. he lost tons of blood, somehow he lived and they were like 15 miles out from the pass, I don't really remember it that well

but that sucks, ive never seen them jump with that much forward force, but they are fun to catch and make great shark bait mmmm mmmm fishin is rad

It looks like a blue striped grunt....
About 3/4ths of the way down this page... you can see both the keywest grunt (white grunt), and the blue striped grunt. Your fish is clearly a blue striped grunt.

They arent great images, but you can see the clear distinction between the two species.

ok nothing to argue about...i was going by what i was told but in that website i looked at it says it can have blue and yellow stripes...it's a grunt that's all that matters...got them in the atlantic and they are good eating....

It says that Key west grunts have blue and white stripes on their face.
..And you are right.. there is nothing to argue about. It is a Blue striped grunt

Yeah... I saw the other pictures.
You have both species on the table.
The white-ish, plain colored ones are the Key West Grunts....
while the yellow ones with blue stripes are the blue striped grunts.

Yes, they are both grunts... but your title is still wrong

thanks, but since there is a mixture then it's alright...my tiltle will prob stay wrong but thanks for pointing that out

They changed the name a few years back to goliath grouper

They changed the name because it might be considered derogatory to Jewish people. Just like they dont have a fish called "The Mid Altantic Nigger Fish"

But seriously, I think your Baracuda is eating a squirrel fish...
