Somehow I can't associate Mardi Gras with dressing up. The first thing that comes to mind is biting into Baby Jesus.

^^^Yea, a lot of people have made that comment upon seeing this pic. lol
^^Yea, there is another side to Mardi Gras that most people don't really know about. Each of the Mardi Gras "Krewes" host a few formal Balls throughout the year- usually at least a 'Coronation Ball' and another formal Ball usually during Mardi Gras week. This pic was from a Coronation Ball when Jen was 'crowned' (note the tiara) with her rank in that year's parade (which float she will be on, etc.). In a couple of years ('07), I'll be the King of that parade and she is going to be the Queen. Take a look at the other pic in my gallery for the King's costume I'll have to wear. lol ...and yes, the "Baby Jesus" ('King Cake' has a plastic doll baked into it) thing is a memory of Mardi Gras for me as well.

^^Actually, she's finishing dual Bachelor's degrees (International Business/Management), and then she's considering getting her Master's degree in 'Global Fashion Management' as she wants to work as an executive in the fashion industry- preferably in NYC.
^Same dress or one styled similarly?(its kinda difficult to see the jeweled detail and such) She got it from a famous boutique in New Orleans- did you get your's there too? That would be a cool coincidence if you both had the same dress.

^^^Mine was from a boutique in Cali actually, but hell if it doesn't look identical. The whole top was beaded in pearl sequins; very beautiful though, congrats ;)

^Your description does seem identical- perhaps it was the same dress at both boutiques. I must admit, she's never failed to "Wow!" me with any of the dresses she has worn to the events we attend.
