I'm originally from 45 minutes out of Gainesville. I've seen them several times. The best performance ever though was back in 1998 at the Florida Theatre in Gainesville. It was their platinum homecoming party (the first time back in Gainesville since Somewhere More Familiar went platinum) and they were presented with the plaque and everything. It was definitely their best concert. They just don't seem to play the same at other venues.

I love Sister Hazel, when they came to Tampa in the fall last semester to sing the National Anthem for the Bucs, they had a private acoustic session at Twilight NightClub in Ybor. There were maybe only a hundred people there. I was right at the stage. No security guards, nothing, it was like they were playing for a small group of friends. Absolutely incredible. I liked them before, but I have been crazy about them ever since!!

Im from Ocala, YES I did go to the show at the Masquerade (It was great) and I went to the one at the House of Blues a week or so ago. They have a New CD coming out on AUG 24th and Andrew Copeland (Backup singer) puts out a solo album around the same time.

I'm from Dunnellon. Woo hoo.
You don't have to be from Gainesville to like Sister Hazel but the North Central Florida upbringing definitely makes you appreciate them more is my guess.
I almost saw them in Okinawa, Japan a couple summers ago. I was visiting my sister and we found out they were coming (she was all excited because she had never seen them). At any rate, they flew all the way to the mainland and then couldn't fly the connection to Okinawa because of a typhoon that hit that weekend.
