that, or i look at the bill that just passed the senate.
whats with the animosity? I'm entitled to my opinion. Besides, you do not reside in the White House but you certainly make a lot of comments regarding to what goes on there... "But I read the news" right? Yeah, so do I...

You act as if you know what these Immigrants go through as they cross the border.
You do no know what they go through.
Let the states worry about themselves.

I never suggested that, if anything I implied that I am unhappy with our current "attempts" to solve the immigration issue, specificially the Hagel-Martinez bill. And really, lets stop calling them immigrants, they are not, they are HOME INVADERS... Secondly, I could care less about what they go through when they cross the border, all I care about is that they get returned... Go through the legal channels, then I will care about how they are treated, otherwise they are nothing more than home invaders to me. Harsh? Perhaps. But it's the truth.
quote :
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your home you insist that I leave. But, I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors: I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest ... except for that part where I broke into your house.
"According to the protestors, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan and provide other benefits for me and my family. My husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest ... except for that breaking in thing.
"If you try to call the police or force me out I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be here. It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest .... ummmmm .... except for that breaking in thing.
"Besides. What a deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being anti-housebreaker! |
It doesnt surprise me that you would take the side of these home invaders, but i will be seeing Senator Martinez tomorrow and I will certainly be asking him why he would be doing something so rediculously stupid.
For instance: do you realize if this new home invader bill passes, that these people will be paying less for college tuition than you are, just becaue they are from mexico? To me that doesn't seem right that these people will be treated better than us "regular" citizens. Bullshit.

and to this i say, how about repealing the 16th ammendment permanently. I, sir, am a fan of as little tax as possible.
and on that note, going back to home invaders... 2 years of back taxes.... how about you not pay your taxes for 10 years and ask the government then if you can just pay 2 years of back taxes... see what they say, your ass will be in jail... these people, they get citizenship with a $2000 fine. Nice, huh?
I don't see how more people on here aren't very worked up about this...

So I guess the hundreds of thousands of people that came to what became the USA from we'll say 1700-1900 were HOME INVADERS as well, and not settlers as they are called in our history books? |
if you look at it from the indians perspective, of course the settlers were home invaders... thats a no-brainer. the thing is, remember what happened to the indians?

and on a further note, if you are content haviing the money taken from your paycheck to go toward paying for these people, instead of paying for you, your retirement, your children's education (in the future) etc, than that is your thing...
personally, i would rather see my social security and medicare taxes, etc go toward AMERICAN CITIZENS, not people who snuck in illegially
besides, if you are going to be forced to pay these taxes, they should come back to benifit you... not mexico.

yet another reason to back my opinion:
quote :
As the debate rages over the illegal alien invasion, people are focusing on several reasons why they don't want an invasion force of millions streaming across the border from Mexico. They cite the fact that those entering the country are breaking the law, driving down wages and driving up the costs of social services. But there is also one consequence of the Bush Administration's open borders we haven't heard much about. Sex criminals.
You already know that communities go to great lengths to notify residents whenever a sex offender is living in town. They publish websites telling you exactly where the registered sex offender lives and what they were convicted of. People use this information to decide whether they want to move away, what neighborhood to relocate to. and so on. It's an important issue...but did you know how many of the 12 million illegal aliens already here are sex offenders?
A recent study tells us that there are some 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders each having committed an average of 4 sex crimes. Were these crimes committed in Mexico or Latin America before these pervs crossed the border? Nope. Those crimes were committed right here in the United States. That's 1 million sex crimes committed in the U.S. that, if we had secured our borders, might not have occurred. Hundreds of thousands of children's lives affected, perhaps destroyed; women living with the history of a violent rape or assault, all because the federal government can't live up to its main responsibility: to secure the border.
And what's worse is that more are on the way. The Violent Crimes Institute says 93 illegal alien sex offenders and 12 serial offenders cross the border every day. And guess what....because they're here illegally, they likely aren't registered...so people won't know where they are so they can avoid them.
Just another consequence of lax border enforcement. |

and don't worry, this was also reported by CNN, so no worries about some crazy rightest station like FOX putting out propaganda, if CNN reported it, there is no doubt this is true

You say that as if it were a totally normal and acceptable thing. What if it was your SSN they used?
I believe that is a felony, correct? So provided that it i a felony, you are totally ok with importing would-be felons? Interesting. Now keep in mind if you stole someone's identity, you would be thrown behind bars for a long time. They will get amnisty. Does that sound fair or reasonable to you? You would lose your rights as a citizen, they will gain their citizenship from it.
They do not get social security, for now, unless this bill passes, then everything changes.
They do, however, get free medical care at hospitals.
Thier children attend public school, for free.
the list goes on but there is just no point in constantly repeating it...
the point is that taxpayers are paying for them to stay here. if you are ok with your taxes funding them, then good for you. I, on the other hand, am not ok with this. Why should my taxes go to pay the ER bill for some home invader? They shouldn't be here in the first place, but now I have to pay for it? No.

FYI, if they are being paid under the table (which most all of them are), then they arent paying payroll taxes, therefore they are not paying into social security.
